Lockey McDonald, director of Australian performance group Southern Edge Arts, Cape town-based contemporary dance company Jazzart, and Mark Fleischman of the Magnet Theatre approached Public Eye to participate in an outdoor multimedia performance entitled 'Vlam'. This show involved more than 400 performers, musicians and visual artists and took place in District Six at night. Public Eye produced a series of illuminated and burning sculptures for the performance. 'Vlam' was an official part of the Cape Town Millennium celebrations.
